Behind the Blend: Meet Charlie
What do you do at Icely Done?
I’m Charlie, Events & Commerical Controller. My job is split between commercial and events. On the commercial side, I analyse costs and help set pricing. On the events side, I act a bit like an account manager, making sure our event contacts have everything they need, when they need it.
How did you end up in this role?
I started in hospitality, working in hotels and their bars & restaurants. I did seasonal work in the French Alps and the Channel Islands before moving back to the UK permanently. I wanted a Monday-to-Friday job, and Icely Done was the perfect mix of hospitality and work-life balance.
What’s your ultimate go-to drink?
Spiced rum & ginger beer with a squeeze of lime. But if we’re talking “type,” I’d pick a sour—keeps the options open without sticking to just one 😊
Favourite Blend?
Pineapple & Coconut. Hands down. The creaminess of the coconut milk makes it so moreish.
If your job were a cocktail, what would it be?
A Zombie. Lots of different parts all coming together to create something that shouldn’t work—but somehow does.
You open your own bar—what’s it called and what’s the signature serve?
Puzzles. Signature serve? I don’t know yet, but it’ll be called The Solution.
Any cocktail wisdom you’ve learnt along the way?
Always a glass full of ice, not just a couple of cubes. It’s not diluting your drink—I will die on this hill.
