We introduced you to the new boy Alex in our previous Meet the Team blog, but this time around we’re kicking it back with Paul.
Although you may have met him briefly in Lefti’s blog back in June last year, Paul has been part of the Icely Done family since October 2017, where he spent a gruelling weeked with Lefti peeling and juicing ginger root to turn into a syrup. How time flies, eh?!
A True Team Player
Incredibly, that didn’t put him off – and he’s played a significant part of the team ever since. With a diverse career background, Paul has held positions at M&S, the Parachute Regiment in the Army, and has also worked as a Lifeguard. He’s now the Icely Done Production Manager, and takes ownership of our Research and Development. This means he’s always playing about with ingredients, and creating new, tasty combinations for our blends, as well as playing a main part in creating bespoke mixes for bars and events. Talk about a well-rounded skillset!
He’s a proper team player, and loves working at Icely Done. That’s due to the man himself Lefti, who Paul says is an incredible guy with a great mind, purpose and view on life; and someone who truly has the interests of others at heart. Well, it’s hard to dissagree with that.
Another thing that Paul loves about working at Icely Done is the team, who are an awesome bunch of amazing people! Aww, thanks Paul.
He thrives in an environment where work and play merge into one as everyone strives for the betterment of the company, and each other. This can definitely be seen in our Highlight/Lowlight meetings – where each team member is able to pick out a positive and a negative of the week, and get a chance to discuss on what to do to improve this, and offer support to one another.
When he’s not creating new blends and overseeing production in the kitchen, you can most definitely find Paul at the gym, doing CrossFit. He’s brought his passion for health and fitness to the team by bringing circuits into mix at the end of each day, where everyone ends up coming into work aching the next morning due to his workouts!
As well as his workouts, he enjoys travelling (a common theme amongst the Icely Done bunch!) and running. He’s a definite adrenaline junkie, and is even taking part in our Charity Skydive to raise money for the Hertfordshire Mind network on Friday 13th September.
One drink that stands out to Paul is Be At One’s Terry’s Chocolate Milk Punch – which featured on their Christmas 2018 menu. Who knew he had such a sweet tooth! Although, he might have to look for a new favourite cocktail this winter.
Paul’s words to live by? “Don’t search for the meaning of life. Simply be there for the people you love.” You got that right.
Keep your eyes peeled for more Staff Profiles featuring the Icely Done team over the next few months!
