Drinks that Sing: Featuring our Pomegranate & Spiced Pear Blend

I am delighted with how our Pomegranate & Spiced Pear blend is tasting and I can’t wait to see what kind of drinks the creative bar heads come up with.

Here are a few things that are tasting really good with this blend. I’d love to hear your comments/thoughts and suggestions.

Latin Sangria

Somewhere between a gorgeous sangria and mulled wine with an added hit of rum. Recipe below makes 1 – but the ingredients scale well to make generous sharing versions which you can make directly in a jug. Inspired by the Deep Blue, a drink by Kevin Armstrong.

Ingredients

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
30ML CUBAN RUM
30ML MALBEC
50ML POMEGRANATE JUICE
2 DASHES ANGOSTURA BITTERS
2 ORANGE SLICES
3 BLACKBERRIES

Method

Build in a Boston glass
Add ice & roll like you might a Bloody Mary
Empty contents of your shaker in to the glass

Glass: Tall Highball or Catalina (14oz)
Garnish: Orange Slice, Mint Sprig, Blackberry

 

Winter Spritz
Ever had a Pear Bellini? If you have, then you already know that this drink is going to sing. Step aside Aperol.

Ingredients

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
20ML GIN
25ML SODA
50ML PROSECCO

Method

Build in to your favourite spritz glass over ice

Glass:
Spritz glass or small white wine glass
Garnish: Orange Slice

Mexican Rose
Simple, elegant, interesting and delicious if you don’t mind me saying. Gin and (lemon) vodka will work well here also, but a mischievous little voice whispered “tequila” as I formulated this drink and I never looked back.

Ingredients

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
50ML EL JIMADOR BLANCO TEQUILA
25ML CRANBERRY JUICE

Method

Shake & Strain

Glass:
Cocktail glass
Garnish: Lemon twist

 

Spiced Pear Cooler

Ok, ok. I hear you, it’s still January. Here is my detox offering.

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
60ML CRANBERRY JUICE
60ML CLOUDY APPLE JUICE

Method

Shake & Strain

Glass: A really tall one.

Garnish: Orange Slice & Mint Sprig

 

Pear & Apricot Fizz

Still detoxing? Come on! How about a little bit of booze? I promise to keep the ABV down…

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
35ML CRÈME DE APRICOT LIQUEUR
50ML SODA


Method

Shake all except soda. Strain in to a highball & top with soda.

Glass: Highball

Garnish: Orange Slice 

 

Tennessee Fizz

A gorgeous tall drink. Fruity, refreshing and interesting if I do say so myself.

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
2.5ML PERNOD ABSINTHE
50ML JACK DANIEL’S NO.7
50ML SODA

Method

Shake all except soda. Strain in to a highball & top with soda.

Glass: Highball

Garnish: Lemon or Orange Wedge. Mint Sprig.

 

Tennessee Smash

A worthy winter twist on the classic Whiskey Smash.

50ML ICELY DONE POMEGRANATE & SPICED PEAR BLEND
1 LEMON WEDGE
4-5 MINT LEAVES
50ML JACK DANIEL’S NO.7

 

Method

Muddle, shake & strain.

Glass: Rocks glass filled with crushed ice
Garnish:
Lemon wedge & a mint sprig.
